Inspired by and hand-dyed in Margate
Welcome to our vibrant world of hand-dyed yarns, inspired by the coastal town of Margate.

Our Margate-themed colourways capture the town's most iconic landmarks and natural wonders. Be inspired by the unmistakeable red and yellow of the Lido, or the dramatic white, grey and green hues of our graffiti-etched cliffs. The yellows and blues of 'On Margate Sands' evoke the feeling of a sunny beach day, while the greens of 'Tidal Pool' reflect the colours of the sea at everyone’s favourite swimming and sauna spot. Perhaps you'd like a post-swim treat with 'The Best Margarita in Margate' or 'Ice Cream Parlour'. And we couldn't ignore the sunsets! 'The Loveliest Skies' captures the beauty of Margate's ever-changing sky, with soft pinks, purples, oranges and blues blending together in a breathtaking ombre effect.

Locally hand-dyed in Margate, our yarns will bring a touch of our vibrant little town to your next knitting or crochet project.

Who are we?
It's just me, actually. I'm Laura, I knit and crochet, and I'm excited to share my hand-dyed yarns with you. I've lived in Margate for ten years and the colours and the light of the sky and the sea are still magical.

Owlers?
'Owlers' is the name for smugglers taking sheep and wool from England (departing from Romney Marsh in Kent) to France. This smuggling trade reached its height during the 15th and 16th centuries, when trade with France was illegal. They worked by night, so it was called 'owling'.
